Big Brother Awards - Google Won Big

Lifetime Menace - Prix Spécial du Jury: Google Inc. wins for its overwhelming capacity to retain personal data of internet users, for having been rated the “worst company” among worldwide Internet groups surveyed last year by Privacy International, for not compling to the EU Data Protection directives, and for filtering search results for political reasons. Google founders Larry Page and Steve Brin, as well as Global Privacy Officer Peter Fleischer, were named for their personnal contribution. French Ministry of Education came second, for its database “base élèves” aimed at registering primary schools pupils (from 3 to 10 years old), and the Ministry of Culture and Communication came 3rd for its repeated laws and decrees aiming to filter the internet, organise global monitoring of internet users without court warrants, and being complacent to the music and film industry lobbies in their fight against online piracy.
It’s also interesting to note that newly elected French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been banned out from the competition this year, because of his “genetic predisposition” to violations of privacy and civil liber

T.I. Expected To Plead Guilty On Weapons Charges, Faces A Year In Jail: Report

Sources say the rapper is expected to serve a year in prison and 1,500 hours of community service. By Chris Harris
Del.icio.us Digg Newsvine Send to Friend Print You Tell Us
T.I. is expected to plead guilty on Thursday (March 27) to federal weapons charges, as part of a plea deal that will send the rapper to prison for a year, reports The Associated Press.
Citing two sources familiar with T.I.’s case, the AP says the 27-year-old rapper (born Clifford Harris) would be sentenced to 1,500 hours of community service — which he would serve by talking to youth groups around the U.S. — followed by about 12 months behind bars. The unnamed sources told the wire service that, as of Thursday morning, both sides were still negotiating the terms of the plea bargain.
According to the AP, T.I.’s prison term could be increased or reduced, depending on his fulfillment of the terms of the deal. He could also serve less time for good behavior. The deal reportedly dictates that T.I.’s message to youth groups should focus on the pitfalls of guns, gangs and drugs. The news follows on the heels of the prosecution’s announcement that a change-of-plea hearing has been scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell Jr., who has been overseeing the proceedings thus far, will have to sign off on the deal.
T.I. was arrested back in October, mere hours before he was to headline the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta. The rapper was charged with possession of unregistered machine guns and silencers, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. If he were found guilty without a plea bargain, he would face a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count. T.I. initially pleaded not guilty to the charges, and has been under house arrest since his release on $3 million bond on October 26. He was allowed to leave his house to attend church services on Easter Sunday.
MTV News will have more on this developing story throughout the day.

P*SSYWHUPPED!! : URSHER AIN’T GETTIN NO ‘LOVE IN THE CLUB!’
Mrs Raymond Strikes!! Ursh I warned you that this chick was a ‘SECTION HO’ (check for definition on my page aka the powder room!)

Keri Hilson was more than Tameka could take!!! hee!!
“Usher’s wife Tameka Foster wasn’t feelin Keri Hilson too much on the set of “Love in This Club”:
Foster was “domineering” and displayed her trademark “Tameka wrath” during a video shoot for Usher’s new song, “Love in the Club,” the weekend of March 15 in LA. An on-set source said Foster was upset when she found out stunning singer/songwriter Keri Hilson was personally picked by Usher to play his love interest in the video.
“It was supposed to be a sexy video shoot. And Tameka was there the entire time guarding like a watchdog. It was ridiculous - she knows Keri and knows she’s no video ho or Karrine Steffans. Tameka is very insecure. Even in rehearsals she was weird and clearly not happy that Keri is so gorgeous. Tameka threw a lot of attitude. The day of the shoot, Tameka dressed Keri very badly - she looked like an extra. Tameka wouldn’t let Keri have her hairdresser there - she had to use the hairdresser who was doing the extras.”
Foster also took a dislike to Usher’s longtime choreographer, Jamaica, and banned her from the set. When Usher and Foster were spotted at the Beverly Hills Hotel last week, “They barely said one word to each other.”
The two have had a choppy past. After they got engaged, Usher fired his mom, Jonetta Patton, as his manager and also axed his publicists. “Tameka was the one and only one to call the shots.”
They were supposed to wed last summer at L.A. Reid’s Hamptons estate - but the wedding was called off at the last minute. They wed a week later in Atlanta, and Foster gave birth to their son, Usher Raymond V, in November. Usher’s album, which may be called “Regret,” was supposed to have come out last year but was delayed due to his wedding and baby. It is now expected by June.
Usher’s manager, Benny Medina, said via e-mail: “Keri could not have been happier with Tameka’s choices in the styling, hair and makeup . . . Jamaica was flown out and arrived a day late to do Keri’s choreography, and was on-set at all times. The shoot itself went brilliantly.”
We told you her ass was crazy…”Bossip
aww hell naw…you know that fiddy would not stand for that mess….or any member of g unit for that matter!!!!

MIKE EPPS ACCUSSED OF FATHERING A CHILD

Comedian/Actor Mike Epps has been asked to take a paternity test by a Georgia woman who claims the star is the father of her 4-month-old baby.
According to TMZ, the unnamed woman pointed to a married Epps in legal filings last month, asking that he take the test and recognizes her child as his own.
We are not asking for the moon, we are just asking him to take a paternity test,” the woman’s lawyer Randy Kessler told TMZ. “Once the tests are completed and paternity is confirmed, hopefully, Mr. Epps will do the right thing and begin to provide for his child.”
Kessler also said that the only reason his client went public with the suit is because her repeated phone calls and emails to Epps and his attorneys were ignored.
Epps, 37, has been married to wife Michelle McCain since 2006 and unfortunately the two have no children together. What a shame if he did father a child with another woman.

New York’s New Governor, David Paterson, Is Getting The Skeletons Out Early — Part 2 (Drugs!)
And It Don’t Stop & It Don’t Quit…..

The newly sworn in Governor, David Paterson, has admitted to using Cocaine “..a couple of times” during an interview with NY1 news. He also plead guilty to smoking ganja in the past as well. “I didn’t want to be blackmailed,” he said.
The confession game started a day after he took over from former Gov. Eliot Spitzer, who was driven from office amid a prostitution scandal. David Paterson revealed that he had affairs with several women, including a state employee. The couple’s fidelity problems went deeper than he first acknowledged. “I am not having an affair now”, he said.

The Patersons said they both had affairs during a time when their marriage was headed toward divorce. But they admitted the infidelity, sought counseling and have built a stronger marriage and family. “We dealt with it as a family,” his wife said. “A marriage has peaks and valleys … no marriage is perfect.”
Damn. How much does a brother have to reveal? Next thing you know they’ll be asking him the first time he wacked off or something……
What will come next???

Outkast’s Road Manager/Former Pro-Wrestler Found Dead

By Tai Saint Louis
Outkast road Manager and former pro-wrestler Chase Tatum was found dead in his Atlanta home on Sunday (Mar 23), of an apparent drug overdose.
The 34-year-old actor and personal trainer, who appeared alongside Big Boi in 2007’s movie Who’s Your Caddy? had a history of being dependent on painkillers and was set to enter a rehab facility, his father Roy Tatum said.
Chase Tatum entered the WCW in 1999, about five years following his win at the Mr. Georgia bodybuilding competition.
He only remained a part of the World Championship Wrestling organization for a little over two years, but was left with severe back problems.
Then self-employed as a personal trainer, and uninsured, Tatum relied on painkillers to deal with his ailments.
At the time of his death, he was recovering from back surgery to repair a degenerative disc and injuries sustained while wrestling.
“He was in the process of getting his life back together,” Roy Tatum told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution on Monday (Mar 24). “He was confident he was going to turn things around, to live a normal life again without the painkillers.”
The Fulton County Medical Examiner has ordered a toxicology report and should know the exact cause of Chase Tatum’s death in about six to eight weeks.

T.I. May Appear On 50 Cent’s Gangsta Grillz

While Tip has been serving house arrest awaiting trial, he’s been recording dozens of songs. Some of his rhymes recently surfaced via the remix to Lupe Fiasco’s “Superstar,” which also features Young Jeezy.
Tip’s rep said he has a slew of other surprise guest appearances coming soon — and one of those could be with 50 Cent. DJ Drama told MTV News on Monday (March 24) that T.I. is in talks to appear on the next G-Unit mixtape, which will be part of Drama’s popular Gangsta Grillz street CD series. An official T.I. single should be out some time in the coming weeks, and his next album, Paper Trail, is slated for a September release.

L.A. Times’ Chuck Philips Defends Method Behind Tupac, Diddy Story: ‘I Know All Kinds Of Stuff I Don’t Write About’

‘I’ve written a lot abut this story, because it fascinates me,’ reporter tells MTV News about his dedication to one of hip-hop’s biggest mysteries.
On one hand, Chuck Philips has a Pulitzer Prize, winning the coveted journalism award in 1999 for beat reporting. On the other hand, many believe the Los Angeles Times writer has brought the veracity of his work into question with two bombshell hip-hop stories — the first in 2002, reporting that the Notorious B.I.G. personally offered his gun to the Crip gang member who murdered Tupac Shakur, and on Monday, Philips claimed that Biggie and Sean “Diddy” Combs were aware of the 1994 plot to ambush Shakur the night he was shot and wounded as he entered Quad Studios.
Those two articles sparked considerable controversy. His allegations are at times hard to believe, and he has drawn criticism for largely citing unnamed sources. And many question why an older white man is the one pursuing the case of two murdered black hip-hip icons.
But Philips, for his efforts, also receives praise for his devotion to the case, when many believe police seem less interested each year. Readers lavish him with kind words for bringing light to two of the darkest moments in hip-hop history. Then there’s his own appreciation for black culture: Philips cites Miles Davis as one of his favorite interviews, recognizes Dr. Dre’s talents, and has a love for ’70s funk.
It’s certainly a complex beat he chases, often prone to failure, he said. And in the end, he leaves it up to his gut instincts that the people he talks to are telling him the truth. It could make him right — or it could make him horribly wrong in the end. Who knows for sure? But Philips stands by his methods.
Here, Philips talks to MTV News about his philosophy on using anonymous sources, when to trust stories — no matter how outrageous the claims may be — and why he keeps trying to figure out this story.
On sourcing: Philips often uses anonymous sources, referencing nothing about a source’s physical description and rarely citing just how close the source is to the story. His reliance on FBI-informant information in his most recent story leads many to question how he could trust someone who is “snitching.” He said he has to protect his sources from death and that even a slight clue could ID them.
“When you talk to people who are involved with the crime, which is what I do, they’re either directly involved or peripherally involved,” Philips explained. “Probably the farthest I’ve ever gotten is the best friend of the guy that was involved, and was told everything. … In this one, and in many other stories, I’ve had direct contact with people who I believe are the criminals. And the deal I work out with them, I don’t go with ‘the guy with green eyes and he’s from Brooklyn.’ I don’t think that matters at all. It doesn’t help identify the individual. But these qualifiers to me, the issue is, do you have the right source? I don’t think it leads to more trust. Because it doesn’t matter where he lived or what position he had. I think the problem with that is that the people who would like to kill them, it matters very much. But when you’re writing about a murder, some of the people who talked to me would be killed if they were identified in any way. Frankly, no one has any idea but their family members that they’re talking to me. Now I’m at the point where I can give my old stories to the people I approach and say, ‘This is how I write, and this is how it will happen. I’ve never burned anybody, and I’m not gonna burn you.’ And most people still won’t talk to you. But in this case, I was a lot luckier than that.”
Outlandish allegations: Some critics say Philips is being taken for a ride by his informants. Philips, however, said he triple-checks his stories through corroboration.
“I often get approached by a lot of people, and then I talk to a lot of people who I thought knew someone and I find out they’re lying,” Philips said. “It takes a lot of time to develop. I’m not gonna write it just because someone says it. I have to, in my mind, have double or triple sourcing on something and people who hadn’t spoken to each other and I can assure myself that they haven’t spoken to each other. Because I’ve had two people try to set me up. … I would catch them. But if you have three, you never get tripped up. I learned that writing about the music business, because I’d write about big deals that were coming out or a firing that would happen five days before it happened. And you had to be right about that sh–, because those guys would sue your ass. But in this case, I don’t write anything until I feel it’s confident, it’s true. I know all kinds of stuff I don’t write about. But then if I know that it’s true, I’m gonna write about it. But I never tell anybody what it is, because it’s unfair if it’s not true. And there are people that will lie to you. Same thing happens in the music business, when I wrote about that. Same thing happened in the government. The police lie to you all the time. Police write up documents that are completely false, and you can print that. As a journalist, if they write up a police report that’s false, you can put that on the front page of the newspaper and not be sued, because it’s a police document.
“People are talking about that document,” Philips added. “I had all of the information before I got the FBI document. [Editor’s note: Philips obtained FBI records cited in Monday’s story that said an informant told authorities in 2002 that Jimmy Rosemond and James Sabatino set up Shakur.] And when I got the FBI document, that was really like frosting on the cake for me. Because in this document, by somebody who I had never spoke to, I did speak to them eventually before the story ran, but who I didn’t know or speak to, he said almost the same thing that I found out. So for me, it’s just another resource, but for everybody who reads it, ‘Oh, it has to be true. The FBI is sourcing it.’ ”
His motivation: Is he doing it for fame? Is he cooking up stories to stir the pot? There are plenty in the hip-hop community who just don’t understand Philips’ pursuit. He said he’s been covering the case because it’s one of the most important entertainment stories of the past 50 years and it simply interests him.
“I’ve written a lot abut this story because it fascinates me,” Philips said. “I’ve written about doctors, politicians, music executives … all these kinds of stories. So why would I make up only this story? I’ve gotten over it. At first it was shocking to me when people would say that, but they just don’t know what you’re doing, and that’s their prerogative.
“I’m always surprised that young black writers have criticized me sometimes, and they don’t go do it,” he said of other reporters who aren’t willing to tackle the story. “If you’re gonna criticize me, go do it. You’ll have a lot easier time moving around than I will. Why aren’t you out there doing it? I actually don’t understand that. But frankly I’m glad nobody else is. You often need a lot of time to go the long way. And then you have to get your gumption back up, to say, ‘All right, f— it,’ when you fail and say, ‘OK, this isn’t it. Now I have to go try these other leads.’ It’s like a detective, in a sense.”

Juvenile’s Daughter’s Uncle Speaks his Mind

Juvenile’s daughter’s uncle released this letter from jail letting people know how he feels about Juve:
“I’m praying this information reach the right person to expose the truth about how Juvenile has used his deceased innocent daughter he ignored. My name is Dwayne Deleston and I’m the brother of Juvenile’s deceased baby mother Joy Deleston. It’s disturbing to know Juvenile never had a relationship with his deceased daughter but accepts the sympathy like he was a good daddy to the child.
It’s not fair to the people who care. Juvenile and his family are receiving all the condolences like they cared about my sister and her kids. Juvenile didn’t have a father and daughter relationship with my niece. My sister tried for years to communicate with Juvenile and his family concerning Jelani since Jelani’s date of birth to Jelani’s unexpected date of death but Juvenile and his mother ignored his child.
Several days before the tragedy Juvenile told my sister, “he did not want nothing to do with her nor Jelani so stop sending pictures to his mother’s house because his wife didn’t know about Jelani and he is making arrangements to pay the owed excessive child support.” Jelani was before Juvenile’s marriage so his wife should have accepted her.
That message Juvenile sent to his child before her death was heart-breaking to her and my family, and our Lord is my witness. In the eyes of the Lord, Juvenile will weep what he sow because he did not have a reasonable reason to deny Jelani. His wife should ask him what else is he hiding from her.
For Juvenile to tell his mother to ignore one of his kids is cruel and unusual for a grandmother to do as she was told. I’m revealing a reality check. Juvenile never spoke to his daughter, he never was there for his daughter when she needed him the most nor did he come to her funeral without a reasonable reason not to.
Juvenile’s family was not at the funeral to show their sympathy. Juvenile nor someone from his family sent flowers nor a card nor called my mother to give their condolences.
Juvenile saying, “he’s shocked and devastated” after hearing about my sister an her daughters death is hard to believe. Juvenile did a show hours after his daughter’s funeral in Augusta, G.A. The final moment his daughter was on earth he did not witness because he did not care about her. Juvenile said, “he is a star and he did not want the attention on him at the funeral. “I’m incarcerated and I made it to the funeral, thanks to the understanding Warden and staff who participated in making sure I was present at the funeral.
Three innocent people was killed. These killings got my family puzzled but all we have to do is continue to have faith in our Lord. There’s a reason for everything and God knows everybody’s heart. Juvenile needs to apologize to his deceased daughter Jelani and Jelani’s mother for wrongfully ignoring Jelani when she reached out to him.
Juvenile needs to realize what’s in his heart reflects on the outside. I greatly appreciate your condolences in light of my loved ones death. May God bless you.
This information is to inform you, you gave condolences to Juvenile and his family but they did not love his innocent daughter that was murdered.
Personally I feel Juvenile used everybody’s sympathy for his selfish means and its best for the people to know the truth. Juvenile ignored his innocent daughter without a reasonable excuse and I can not support someone like him.”
Sincerely,
Dwayne

Judge Allows T.I. To Attend Easter Service
According to the AJC, a federal magistrate judge ruled today that T.I., whose given name is
Clifford Harris, can be away from home from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday so he
can attend a service sponsored by New Birth Missionary Baptist Church at the
Georgia Dome.
The judge says T.I. must be accompanied during the excursion by a court-approved monitor and one of his attorneys. (Source)
WSB-TV reported that last year’s service drew more than 40,000 people. I wonder how many spectators, oops I mean groupies, will be in attendance on Sunday?

Camel’s Excessive Demands
Hov is asking for stacks upon stacks upon stacks for his label.

Jay-Z is apparently asking “way too much,” an insider said. “He wants a label to give him $100 million for the Carter Music Group and provide for overhead, development and digital investment. It’s crazy. He wants the labels to basically be his venture capital fund — but unlike a venture cap, they won’t get 50 percent. This is not the ’90s anymore.” A rep for Jay-Z, who is branching out into hotels and bars, called this account “rumors.”
Sounds a bit much Jigga, especially for a label that will most likely do all of its artists greasy…
